Each letter is 2 to 3 1/2 inches wide and 4 to 6 inches tall. The average 6 letter name is 18 inches long.

We use veneer ply called Baltic Birch. It is not a local wood but it is best for fine cutting and a smooth finish. Please consider the fact that wood is a natural product and grain effects cutting and painting.
NEW! Please note that I have a new cutting and finishing method in summer 2011! I now use water based paints, and the edges are dark brown/black. Slightly different look but same great animals and letters.

We sell our name puzzles most often as new baby gifts. We suggest that the puzzle be displayed until the child is 3 to 4 years old. Some of the pieces are too small, and children may be tempted to chew on pieces. We have heard from past customers who have kept their puzzles for years, and hung them in their University dorm room!
